Prof. Paraskevi Fragopoulou is a Professor in the Department of Applied Informatics and Multimedia – ΤΕΙ of Crete.
Prof. Paraskevi Fragopoulou (fragopou@ics.forth.gr) received her diploma in Computer Science from the University of Crete in 1989, and the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Computer Science from Queen’s University, Ontario, Canada in 1990 and 1995, respectively. Currently, she is a Professor of Computer Science in the Department of Applied Informatics and Multimedia, Technological Educational Institute of Crete. She is also an Associated Researcher at the Institute of Computer Science, Foundation for Research and Technology-Hellas (FORTH-ICS), as a member of the Distributed Computing Systems Laboratory.
She performed research in several European Institutions such as the Ecole Normale Superieur de Lyon (ENS-Lyon), and the Danish Computer Center for Research and Education (UNI-C) where she was part of the parallel scientific computing group. From 1996 to 1998 she was the recipient of a Marie-Curie European Fellowship in the Universite Paris-Sud, Orsay, France. From 1998 to 2001 she was a Maitre de Conference at the Universite de Versailles, France.
Prof. Fragopoulou, has co-authored more than 60 conference/journal papers and book chapters. She has served as a reviewer for several conferences/journals and in the program committee of several conferences. Her primary research interests are in the areas of Distributed and Parallel Computing, Peer-to-Peer systems, Grid Computing, Computer Networks and Internet Technology. She has participated in several projects funded by the European Commission and by the Greek Government, such as CoreGRID, EGEE, SafeLine often as the technical coordinator.
